Soft Snickerdoodles

Anyone who knows me knows I have a huge sweet tooth! These have become one of my favorite cookie to bake mainly because I don’t have to go digging for any ingredients (they’re all easily located unlike my chocolate chips, nuts, coconut, etc which are buried deep).  Most snickerdoodle recipes suggest popping the dough in the fridge to help when you roll it into perfect balls, but with no fridge here they still come out amazing even if not perfectly snickerdoodle round.  snickerdoodles

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • Cinnamon Sugar for rolling: 1/4cup sugar, 2tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350*F.  Add butter and sugars, cream.  Add eggs and vanilla, combine.  Add dry ingredients and stir.  Take bits of dough and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.  Bake for 9 min until barely golden brown.  YUM!

This is the best snickerdoodle recipe ever! And popping a piece of parchment paper on the baking sheet makes clean up a breeze which is always convenient when you’re trying to conserve water!
